The Coffee
‘Sesongot’ is the name for a beautiful caterpillar native to Gayo that is commonly found hanging about in the coffee trees. Aulia chose to name his experimentally and special processed coffees after the creature due to its unique and very special appearance! Aulia cultivates coffee on Rakyat Farm, which he inherited from his family. He selectively handpicks ripe, red cherries, or purchases from neighbouring farmers before soaking the cherries in clean water for 2 days, then laying them on patios to dry and raking them frequently to ensure even drying, which takes 12 to 15 days.
Suitable for all brewing methods, making both a juicy filter coffee and a wonderfully characterful espresso. This Anaerobic Wet Hulled lot from producer Aulia Kahfi, is fruity and delicious with notes of black tea, cherry acidity and treacle toffee
