The Coffee
This coffee is sourced from our friends at Raw Material Coffee. RM is all about reinvesting profits in infrastructure that is to the benefit of producers and their futures. Izuba meaning “sun” in Kirundi. Located in Runinya, Kabarore Commune, of Kayanza Province. The Izuba washing station is set close to a nearby river, providing a vital and regular freshwater source for coffee processing. This coffee is wet processed (washed). In this process the ripe coffee cherries are picked and sorted for unripes/defects, then pulped to remove most of the fruit surrounding the bean then soaked in fermentation tanks to remove the remaining fruit pulp. It is then dried on raised beds until it reaches a moisture content of 10%.
This coffee has been specially roasted for those who enjoy espresso without milk. Also great as a punchy filter coffee, expect sweet notes of marzipan, redcurrant acidity and jasmine.
